Evelyn P. Mitchell "Nena", 90, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 5, 2015, with family by her side. She is survived by her children, Allan Mitchell and wife, Glenna, and Janet Trask and husband, Charlie; grandchildren, Kenneth Mitchell and wife Morgain, Chad Trask and wife Christi, and Laura Trask; great-grandchildren, James, Thomas, Ren, Annie, and Caroline; brother-in-law, Dave Mitchell and wife, Geneva; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Martin Mitchell; grandson, Eric Mitchell; and brother, Bennie Pankey. Evelyn was born on September 13, 1924 to Archie and Hilah Pankey in Hildebrand, OR. Her family moved to New Mexico in 1935. Evelyn graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic High School, where she and Charley met. They were married in 1942, just before he left to fight with the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon his return, they settled in Albuquerque to raise their family and operate their family business, Mitchell Equipment Co. Evelyn will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, and mother, devoted daughter, a loving grandmother, and faithful friend to many. She will be laid to rest with Charley on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
