Evelyn Huerta age 92, beloved by daughters, great and grandchildren, relatives and friends, passed away on March 15, 2017.
Evelyn was born in Durango, Co to Clarence and Lula Chinn. She graduated from Las Vegas, NM High School, UNM and Greeley State Teachers College in Colorado. Evelyn taught elementary school in Vaughn and Albuquerque for 42 years, mostly at Hodgin Elementary. Evelyn touched many people's lives in positive ways and she will be greatly missed.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Ramon. She is survived by brother Earl Chinn of San Diego; daughter, Shila Marek; her children, Thomas, Grant and wife, Shelly, and John Marek; daughter, Lisa and husband, Ronald Storey and their children, Kyle Storey, Brett Nichols and wife, Natasha, Jared Storey and wife, Mary, and son, Matthew; great grandchildren, Natalya Hill, Abigail, and Charlotte Marek and Irie, Leiren, and Nyah Nichols; and numerous other extended family and friends. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, drawing, reading and keeping in touch with family and friends. She loved to write letters and emailed friends and family up to the very end of her life.
A Funeral Service will not be held. A Memorial Service is scheduled for family and friends in May.
Anyone wishing to honor Evelyn's memory may make a donation to The Salvation Army at 411 Broadway Blvd, SW, Albuquerque. NM 87102. She is gone, but will never be forgotten.
