Evelyn Marie Berkson, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Cameron University. Early in her career she worked in various administrative positions, some of which required her to have top secret security clearances. While residing in Tulsa she was the executive secretary for the Director of the largest petroleum refinery in Oklahoma. While in Albuquerque, she was a long time member of the Duke City Bridge Club and was a Life Master duplicate bridge player. She was a very talented home designer and assisted in the design of some outstanding homes in Corrales, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Gallup. While residing in Gallup she was an officer in the Junior Women's Club where she made lasting friends. She also made lasting friends while living in Placitas, El Paso, San Antonio, Hagerstown, Maryland and Sacramento, California. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Barry Berkson. She was a devoted mother to her two surviving children, Bradley Berkson of Boston and Angela Berkson of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her son-in-law Ted Lindsey, her daughter-in-law Michaela Berkson, four grandchildren and many other family and friends including her sister Sherry Downey and husband, Joe. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at Alz.org or the charity of your choice.
