Evangeline Schneider, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque was called home to be with the Lord Jesus on May 6, 2015 at the age of 94. She was born on November 22, 1920 to James and Florence (Miller) Harwood in El Paso, TX. She was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, class of 1939. In 1942 she married the love of her life, Chester Schneider of Albuquerque. Evangeline was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, her sister Florine Murray, brothers James, Tom and Gene Harwood and grandson Elliott Schneider. Her love for the Lord Jesus and all things beautiful was expressed through her paintings. She was an artist best known for her floral pastels which often included hummingbirds and she painted well into her eighties. Her painting, "This Iris Is Mine" was one of the first chosen to hang in the Highland Senior Center Permanent Art Collection. She is survived by her sons, Wynn and his wife Derlie of Albuquerque and Lance and his wife Linda of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Michelle Morrison of Albuquerque and Crystal Hernandez and husband Christopher of Tucson; and great-grandchildren, Jared and Janna Morrison and Katherine and Elliott Hernandez. Her loving sweet memory will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Triumph Centre at Bethel Church, 7800 Holbrook NE, Albuquerque.
