Vangie Herdt peacefully departed on February 26, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on August 4, 1950, in the Philippines, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from Virgin Milagrosa University, Philippines. Married to her beloved Ivan Herdt for 29 years, Vangie cherished spending time with her family, indulging in reading, connecting with loved ones through video calls, and mastering American desserts. She found immense joy in her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Gavin, and formed a special bond with her stepdaughter Ivana, who provided invaluable support from the beginning and was adored by her nieces and nephews for her warmth, attentive listening, wise advice, and kindness. Before retiring, Vangie served as a dentist, professor, and Orthodontic Assistant. Following retirement, she devoted herself to her late husband Ivan, cherishing every moment spent with him. After his passing, she continued to prioritize family, spending precious time with her siblings. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ivan Herdt, and her parents, Jose and Francisca Austria. A Viewing will be held on March 6 at 6pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial in Mount Vernon, Washington.
