Eva G.Timmons, 87, of Bosque Farms, entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter E. Timmons; her children; Richard Timmons (Joanne) and Vickie Cook (Russell). She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her sisters Betty Howard, Ruby Martin and Charlene Campbell and brother James Mann preceded her in death. Eva is survived by sisters June Longenbaugh of Albuquerque, NM, Katherine Huxel (Larry) of Montrose, CO, and Dorothy Boykin (Eddie) of Corrales, NM, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva was the daughter of Charles Mann Jr. and Beulah Hicks Mann, born on July 17, 1931, the third oldest of seven sisters. She was raised on a working truck farm and ranch in the North Valley of Albuquerque. After graduating from Albuquerque High School in 1949, she attended The University of New Mexico majoring in music.
Her love story began on April 20, 1951, when she married Walter Ellison Timmons the love of her life for nearly 68 years. They resided in Albuquerque, NM, until moving to Bosque Farms, NM, in 1992.
Eva loved music. As a young lady she played Viola in the Albuquerque Civic Symphony and enjoyed playing and teaching piano, passing her appreciation of music on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eva was a loving mother, homemaker and care giver. Being a remarkable cook, everyone looked forward to her preparing meals on holidays and for family gatherings. She was a devoted caregiver to her mother and mother-in-law.
She was active in Masonic Organizations, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, served as an advisor for Rainbow Girls and a member of Mothers Club for DeMolays.
As a member of Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church, Eva was active in the Crafty Ladies, Adult Sunday School, United Methodist Women and Hand Bell Choir.
For the last two and half years the loving caregivers at Bee Hive of Bosque Farms, along with her loving husband, Walt, took exceptional care of Eva. The family would like to convey to them and everyone else who cared for her their greatest and warmest gratitude.
Eva will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park following a private family ceremony. A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church, 25 Wesley Rd., Peralta, NM, 87042. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church.
