Eunice M. Foley passed away January 19, 2017. Eunice was born September 5, 1921. She is survived by her children, Richard (RVM) and Rose Meadows, (FL), Terry (RVM) and Becky Meadows, (Alb), Dave (RVM) and Sue Meadows, (TX), Jackie and Dave (RVM) Shadle, (Alb), Mark Meadows, (Alb), Tom Meadows, (Alb), and Maggi Meadows Blackburn, (Edgwd); many, many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her father, Clarence McGown, WWI; mother, Margarethe McGown Taylor; husband, William E. Meadows, who served in WWI and WWII; son, John W. Meadows, KIA in Vietnam; brother, Jack McGown; sister, Margarethe Withrow; son, Pete M. Foley, Jr., Vietnam; husband, Pete M. Foley, Korea; grandson, Billy Meadows; and son-in-law, Rick V. Blackburn, Vietnam.
Eunice had a very long, happy life filled with all of these wonderful duties and jobs. WWII - Army ammunition truck driver (6 wheels to 4 wheels), from Detroit, MI to east coast to overseas; Note: They did say "Thank You" to "All of Us" for this War Time Work!
Eunice worked for years at the Ford factory in Detroit with many different jobs and titles. She dined with Henry Ford and family many times in these years; and has the photos to prove it all, hahaha; got to love a woman that dines with the best hahaha.
Eunice, her mother and sister all worked many years for the Detroit school systems, then when all the Race Wars broke out everyone moved to other states. When Eunice moved to Albuquerque, NM she worked for many years at the S&H Green Stamp store as a manager, until its closing.
She then went on to receive her Realtor's License and sold real estate for many, many years. The whole time in Albuquerque, Eunice was a member of the ABWA- American Business Women's Association, where she held every officers title and position and traveled all over the United States hosting conventions for ABWA, and also a life time member of the VFW, American Legion and German American Club.
She loved going camping and fishing with her family along with vacations every year. She also loved a good laugh with all of her friends that she said was priceless.
Eunice is loved and will be missed by many.
Interment will take place Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, www.americanheart.org in Eunice's name.
