Eunice Lucille Harrison Flatt peacefully entered Heaven early Sunday Morning April 14, 2024 to be with her Savior Jesus Christ. She lived a full life and was 100 years old. She was born near Sweetwater, Texas on July 11, 1923. She will join her twin sister Vernice who passed away in 1928. These twins were born to Elizah "Lige" Harrison (1886-1965) and Zora Miles Harrison ( 1901-1977). Eunice grew up in Big Spring, Texas during the great depression and times were hard but the family was strong and lived her Faith in Jesus. She had an older brother, Clyde Clifton Harrison (1918-1995) and a younger sister Wanda Jean Burlinson (1927-2001). She was also preceded in death by her husband of 77 years Travis D. Flatt (1919- 2016) and two sons, Jerry Odell Flatt (1941- 2009) and Carl Dean Flatt ( 1949- 2019).
She loved and enjoyed her adopted home town of Albuquerque New Mexico. She loved the shops, the culture and her Church Sandia Baptist where she was very active. She loved playing her Electric Organ and she was an extremely accomplished Artist, painting many New Mexico scenes. She taught dog grooming, Wedding Cake Baking and Candy making and operated schools teaching those skills. She remained in Albuquerque until Her husband passed and was moved to Baptist Retirement Center in San Angelo, Texas in 2017. She missed her many friends in Albuquerque but made many new friends in San Angelo.
Eunice is survived by her son, Ronald D. Flatt and wife Marie ( Mertzon, Texas), Grandchildren Travis C. Flatt (Tulsa OK), Justin Flatt (Seattle WA) Jason Flatt ( Las Vegas), Grand daughters Emily Flatt Gatti ( Hawaii) and Tina Flatt Flohr (las Vegas), Daughters-in- Law Ann Fatt ( Midland TX), Linda Flatt (Las Vegas).
We are very appreciative of the love and kindness shown by Gentiva Hospice, The Crest at Baptist Retirement Center, Pastor Garland Peek, Pastor Chris Sweet, Grace Temple Baptist, Chaplin Kevin McSpaden, Chaplin Domingo Lopez and her unofficially adopted son, Ethan Crawford.
Eunice L. Flatt will be Laid to Rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens beside her beloved husband in Albuquerque on Thursday April 25, 2024.
