Eugenia Carol Mackie

d. June 16, 2015

Eugenia Carol Mackie, 77, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was graciously called home to our Lord on June 16, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. Eugenia is survived in life by her children Lisa Mackie (Maryland), Linda Mackie (Albuquerque) and Mark Mackie (Atlanta); her four loving grandchildren, Gavin Grant, Alexis Holwerda, Spencer Mackie, Griffin Mackie, her sister, Sharlyn Taunton and her daughters Traci and Rhonda, her uncle, Dale Hecht and his wife Yvonne, and her best friend since first grade, Sue Williams. Eugenia's loving husband Daniel, her parents Grady and Ernestine Tucker, her adored mother-in-law Neva Mackie and favorite uncles were waiting for her in heaven. Eugenia gave so much of herself to so many. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, giving all her time and energy to her family. Earlier in life, Eugenia helped Daniel build a successful accounting practice which is still thriving today. She later went on to become a successful office manager for a local adolescent psychiatry office. Eugenia loved being a part of her children's extracurricular activities, such as Campfire where she was a leader for many years. The family enjoyed many, many fishing and camping trips where Eugenia was the center of attention as she would say, meaning the cook! Later in life Eugenia looked forward to time with her grandchildren. She was the consummate Gram, always teaching that what happened at Grams, stays at Grams. She loved crafting, making blankets with her daughter and enjoyed giving to others. She volunteered at many worthy organizations, including Casa Angelica, UNICEF and the All Faiths Receiving Home where she and Daniel were co-treasurers and active members of the Auxiliary. Eugenia worked many, many apple festivals to raise money for the charity. Eugenia was an angel to the elderly, as she helped so many seniors manage their financial and personal affairs along the last mile of their paths to the Lord. She was an advocate that all seniors should be treated kindly, with respect and provided what they needed to have a smile on their face. Eugenia enjoyed sitting in the backyard with Daniel while kitty and bird watching with a glass of tea, chips and salsa. She enjoyed the Lord's sun on her face every day in every way. She has her soul mates hand again - you will be missed but we will see you again. A MEMORIAL CELEBRATION OF EUGENIA'S LIFE will be held at the FRENCH - Wyoming on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. with visiting from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. We look forward to meeting friends, clients, caregivers and everyone who has been touched by Eugenia in some way. We are sure Eugenia would appreciate any donations in her name be sent to Casa Esperanza (casanm.org) or the Scoliosis Foundation (scoliosis.org).
