Eugene Pyell, 80, beloved brother, father, step-father and friend, was called to his eternal resting place on October 13, 2021. He entered this world on October 1, 1941 in Saratoga, WY, born to Ernest and Violet Pyell, but grew up in the pacific northwest. He graduated from Cascade High School in 1959 and played football for the Cougars. He is survived by his older brother, James Pyell; his son, Edd Troxclair; his daughter, Teresa McInturff; sister-in-law, Darlene Pyell; step-son, Aaron Jaramillo and his wife Aimee; and step-daughter, Kerry de Vore and her husband Andrei. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha Varoz and husband Gabe, Kenzie Jaramillo and Ellie Jaramillo; great-grandchild, Oliver Varoz; and his dear friends, Russ and Domi Cross. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Pyell and his brother, Robert Pyell.
Eugene was a proud veteran, serving in the Air Force from 1959-1980 and earning the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. After the Air Force, Eugene worked as a computer programmer for Albuquerque Public Schools until he retired.
The interment will be held on December 2, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
