Ethel Bertha (Luepnitz) Lovegrove

Ethel Lovegrove passed away on May 7, 2023. She was born on June 19, 1920. Ethel graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

Ethel loved her Christian work with the children in Sunday School, Junior Church and released time classes from the public school in the winter. Also, having Bible studies for the church women. Ethel and her husband went on visitation miles back into the woods to see the woods workers.

Ethel and her husband Roy, each won a scholarship to Moody Bible Institute. Roy sold 250 subscriptions to the Moody Monthly Magazine. Ethel sold 1,000 Moody Colportage books. They were the only couple at that time to receive scholarships.

They spent 16 years in rural areas in home missions. A car ran into theirs and injured Ethel, so they had to retire from their missions. Later they were in a church where they had classes, charge of a nursery, a women's group and walked to church on Wednesday evenings knocking on doors and passing out tracts.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Ethel is preceded by her husband of 57 years, S. Roy Lovegrove; her children Donna and Daniel; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Carol, and Rebecca; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Albert Luepnitz and Carl Luepnitz.

She was a kind compassionate person who put others' needs above her own. She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at FRENCH-University, on May 19, 2023, at 11:00am, with Pastor Fred Gurule officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
