Esther J. Smith

Remembrance Note:

Esther J. Smith (“Nana”), 98, died last Sunday. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph.  She is survived by sons, Max Otero and wife Gloria, Frank Otero and wife Mary Lou; and daughter, Jeanette Jenkins and husband Ron.  Also surviving her are eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She had dedicated her life to the service of others, working as a nurse’s aide at University Heights Hospital, a caregiver in private homes, and a nanny for many families.  Esther had boundless energy and was always ready to tell a joke to brighten someone’s days. She loved children dearly, and in retirement worked as a foster grandmother at a Head Start Program.

Wherever Esther went she made that little corner of the world brighter.

“See you later alligator… after while crocodile.”

Service Details:

Please join us on Monday, July 22, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at ABQ Party Space to remember and celebrate the life of Esther Smith. All who knew Esther Smith (Nana) are welcome to attend. We will begin with a memorial service and then follow that with a reception.  The address of the venue is 300 Menaul Blvd NW Suite# 200, Albuquerque, NM 87107. (See map below for more details.)
