Esther Maria Marquez

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, Esther Marquez, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 just shy of her 99th birthday.

Our comfort is in knowing she will join the love of her life, Dan R. Marquez, who proceeded her in death. They were married 66 years prior to his passing.

Esther is survived by her children; Georgia Mitchell, Lorraine & Leo Padilla, Robert Marquez, Sylvia Gehring, Katherine & Bill Burt, Gloria & Johnny Sanchez, Priscilla & Anthony Lopez, Elizabeth & Joe Mares, Danny & Diedre Marquez. There are 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

One of Esther’s joys and a longstanding Marquez tradition was an open house held every Christmas Eve filled with loving family and friends.  Her home was open that night to all and every other day of the year as well. Her life was a reflection of her love in Jesus Christ. Her smile, laughter, and hugs will be deeply missed.
