Erward Tewes

TEWES, ERWARD H. "CHIC"Age 97, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 16, 2012. He is survived by his children, Erward R. "Buzz" Tewes and wife, Pauline, Janet Jastram and husband, Jonathan; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. Mr. Tewes was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Leona; his daughter, Nancy Claypool; and his parents, August and Helene Tewes. Erward served our country in the United States Army during WW II. He was appointed to serve as Business Manager of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod Mission in Japan in 1951. Erward and Leona returned to the USA in 1972 from Japan to serve as Business Administrator for the Lutheran Church in New Orleans. They retired in 1980 and moved to Rio Rancho in 1982. They became faithful members of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church, with Pastor Neigdik officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
