Ernesto “Ernie” Flores beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the age of 70.
He was born in Flagstaff, AZ to Jesus and Amalia Flores on May 2, 1949 who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Flores; sons, Jason Flores and Leon Flores; five grandchildren, Mariano Flores, Jerome Flores, Jaiden Flores, Canaan Flores, Micah Flores; two great-grandchildren twins, Jayce and Jonah Flores. He also survived by sisters, Stella Rager and husband, Wayne, Angie Flores, Alice Seals and husband, Steve, Barbara Shuler and husband Kevin, Fran Barela and husband Willie; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School then served proudly in the US Air Force. He then went on to attend the University of Albuquerque where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and began his career in Art. He was an accomplished artist and sculptor with much of his work displayed throughout the city. His passion for life was demonstrated in his art work.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 9, 2020, 9:00 a.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Ernie will be lain to rest at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors.
