Ernestine Archuleta

December 15, 1939 — July 24, 2022

It is with a heavy heart; we announce the peaceful passing of Ernestine (Tina) C. Archuleta. Ernestine was called to heaven on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Tina was born on December 15, 1939, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, to Augustine and Eliza Casaus, she was the 2nd oldest of four brothers and a sister: Augustine Casaus Jr, Felix Casaus, Procopio Casaus, Albert Casaus and Rebecca Blea. She graduated in Fort Sumner, NM in 1959. On July 7, of 1962 she married the love of her life, Jose (Joe) Simon Archuleta. They welcomed four daughters, Therese Chaparro (Osman), Christine Givens (John), Lisa Archuleta and Michelle Archuleta. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Miranda, Ramon, Aaron, Andrew (Jordin), Jessica, Patrick, Alisha, Isaiah, Emily, Michael, and Joseph, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also honored to be the God mother to Donna Blea Forrester and Joseph Martinez. She spent her beautiful life in Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM. She stayed home to be a mother and take care of her four daughters. After that she began her career and worked for the Taos public schools, Chavez Jewelers, and Zales. She also worked in Medical Records in a few locations in Santa Fe NM, and Enchanted Jewelers in Albuquerque, NM. Tina was an active member of St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Parish, where she was part of the choir. She was an extremely talented seamstress and made the most beautiful quilts, 27 to be exact, which were gifted to her loved ones. Tina was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ann Archuleta; father, Augustine Casaus; mother, Eliza Casaus; brother, Augustine Casaus Jr; and sister, Rebecca Blea. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have been a part of her life.

Pallbearers are Felix Casaus, Procopio Casaus, Albert Casaus, Ramon Chaparro, Aaron Chaparro, Michael Martinez, Joseph Martinez, and Isaiah Soveranez. Honorary Pallbearers are Miranda Small, Andrew Givens, Jessica Givens, Alisha Archuleta, and Emily Eaton.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2022, beginning at 7:45 a.m., with a Rosary to follow at 8:15 a.m. and Mass at 9:00 a.m., at St Joseph's on the Rio Grande Parish, 5901 St Joseph's Dr. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
