Ernest Gallegos Velasquez

Ernest Gallegos Velasquez, 96, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Janice; sons, Charles Velasquez, Frank Velasquez, Victor Velasquez, and Daniel Velasquez; daughter, Loretta Ginn; along with 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Belle; mother, Rita; and father, Nestor.

Ernest was very active at St. Edwin Catholic Church. He loved playing his musical instruments as well as singing his Spanish music. Even at the age of 95, he looked forward to going bowling with his grandson, Martin.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022, 8:45 a.m., at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

Family will be hosting a Reception at St. Edwin Catholic Church Parish Hall after the Mass, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., all are invited to attend.

Pallbearers will be Martin Velasquez, Chris Velasquez, Danny Portillo, Michael Muller, Aaron Bennett, and Jeremy Vargas.
