Ernest Torres

Ernest C. Torres, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on March 10, 2024. He was born on April 1, 1952 to Felix Torres and Emily Torres. He was a resident of Tijeras, NM where he lived with his wife in their beautiful mountain home. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as Sgt/Sp5 and Sharpshooter, and member of the the Army National Guard. He was an avid, ethical hunter and outdoorsman, and also a successful entrepreneur and master craftsman. He created a 46 year legacy with his cabinet and furniture business, Northwestern Woodworks where he handcrafted the luxurious and exclusive "Ernie Torres Cabinets." He most enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, being in the mountains hunting, and a good cake. He is survived by his wife Kathy Torres, whom he has been devoted to for 52 years, two daughters Alicia Lucero and Melanie Torres, son in law Louis Lucero, and sisters Barbara Dominguez and Marilyn Torres. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Marisa Lucero, Analise Lucero, and Aidan Torres, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. Family friends and all whose lives Ernie touched are invited to join us in his celebration of life: Visitation and Catholic Rosary will be held at French Mortuary on Thursday March 21, 2024 from 6pm-8pm, and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 10am at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, immediately followed by a reception luncheon at the church, and then Graveside Service/Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 1pm.
