Ernest Dominguez

Age 82, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 Ernie went home to his Heavenly Father where he was met by his cherished mother and beloved daughter who went to heaven before him. He was born on November 6, 1930 in Clayton, NM. He proudly served in the USAF during the Korean War. He attended UNM and remained a die-hard Lobo fan. He then embarked on a career as an air traffic controller, retiring after 32 years. Among his many hobbies, he loved to travel and visited many countries, his favorite places were the beaches in Mexico. When he was in his mid forties he taught himself how to play the guitar and to make turquoise jewelry. He met every Friday with his fellow retired controller buddies for lunch and spirited conversation. His favorite times were when the family was all together, whether it was for a celebration or just hanging out by the pool. Ernie is survived by his children; Liz Shaver and husband Randy, Phillip Dominguez, Beverley Bowlin and husband Todd, Mark Dominguez and wife Sharon; grandchildren; Jessica Adams and husband Matt, Katelyn Bowlin, Samantha Sanchez and husband Gabriel,Jonathan Dominguez, Matt Shaver, Nicole Shaver and husband Diego; great grandsons; Colton Adams and Diego Loayza-Shaver; and brother; Fred Urioste. Ernie is also survived by his beloved dog and constant companion Popcorn. He was preceded in death by his mother; Mary Miera and his daughter; Genevieve Dominguez. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, 6:30 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside. Friends may visit from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 10:00a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The burial service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 Mt. Calvery Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Animal Humane Society.
