Ernest Milburn Attebery

ERNEST M. ATTEBERY , 78, of Moriarty, N.M. passed away peacefully on May 22, 2022. He was born in Fayettesville, Arkansas, September 13, 1943, to Doris (nee) Washburn and Ernest M. Attebery, Sr., both deceased. He is survived by his second wife Sonja (Sunny) nee Warf, stepson, Michael D. Calderon, stepdaughter, Cristina Calderon, grandson, Michael R. Calderon, granddaughter, Victoria Dawson; sisters, Edee and Betty Attebery, niece, Jeanne Dobkins, and nephew, Robert Shaw. His extended family includes Mike and Sonja Haines and Gale and Lindy Holt. Ernest's first wife Carol nee Harris, his son, Ernest M. Attebery III, and his brother Robert E Attebery preceded him in death. Ernest was a Vietnam veteran, police officer, investigator, and supervisor in several agencies.

He served as Captain at the Penitentiary of New Mexico and Chief of Security at the Corrections Corporation of America in Estancia, N.M. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association (MOAA), Veterans of Foreign War, Post 3370, Disabled American Veterans, Luchetti Castner #15, and American Legion, Post 49.  He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #6, Albuquerque, Scottish Rite Lodge, Santa Fe, and the Shrine Temple, Albuquerque. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church, 2412 U.S. Route 66., Edgewood, N.M. In Lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church in his honor.
