Eric "Rick" Peterson, age 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed from this world on Friday, May 28, 2021. An old hippie who loved to travel New Mexico, tell great stories, travel back roads, and make friends with anyone and everyone. He was proud of his life's work as an electrical engineer. He loved nature, ghost towns, Nascar, and Jeeps. But above all he loved music and was a great musician and singer, playing with several groups up until his death, including his old high school band mates.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Peterson; his mother, Marion Peterson (Patterson); and his stepmother, Norma Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Peterson; his daughters, Riki Lee Manfredi and spouse, Cheryl Vadnais, and Diane Quinzon and spouse; and sons Isaac Peterson and Gene Vadnais and spouse. He was affectionately known as "Papa Snert" and leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many, many, cherished friends, and extended family. He was truly one in a million, taking the road less traveled till the end.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Vista Verde Memorial Park at 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
