Eric Ronald Wallace

Eric Ronald Wallace, age 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023 after an extended illness. He is survived by his mother, Amelia A. Wallace of Albuquerque; his brother, Alex J. Wallace and wife, Pamela of Downers Grove, Illinois; nephew, Scott Wallace and wife, Nicole of Arlington, Illinois; sister, Genie Wallace of Albuquerque; niece, Jilian Lopez of Las Vegas, NV; nephew, Alaric Lopez of San Diego, CA; niece, Sinead Lopez of New York City, NY, and niece, Addy Lopez of Albuquerque, as well as numerous cousins.
He retired from the Social Security Administration after a career of 15 years. He held associate degrees from TVI in Pre-Engineering and Manufacturing Technology.

Eric enjoyed road trips (especially with Mom) where they would explore the USA. He loved seeing Graceland Mansion, Daly Plaza where JFK was assassinated, The Space Needle, Mount Rushmore, the California coast and many more places. He was very organized and planned his trips well in advance. He also enjoyed music, especially The Beatles. He was a big Paul McCartney fan and had encyclopedic knowledge of the Beatles.

He was a very private person that let very few people into his life. I was fortunate in the past few years to have "Fridays with Erik" calls as I would refer to them. Every Friday he would call me or vice versa and we would just chat about our week, discuss politics or I would hear his outrageous tales of his early life. He had a wicked sense of humor and the stupidest laugh.

I regret trying to trade him for a cat when he was born.... I will miss him.
