Emmalene Urlton

April 24, 1921 — October 10, 2012

Emmalene Virginia Urlton passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 after a long fulfilled life. She was born on April 24, 1921 in Albuquerque, NM to Lillian Pearl Burgess and Fidel Gasper Padilla. Her family history has been in New Mexico as far back as the 1800's. Her great-grandparents traveled to New Mexico when it was a territory. Her grandparents and parents were active in the business community in Albuquerque and other areas of New Mexico. Her Grandfather (a Pharmacist) was involved in helping to start the School of Pharmacy at UNM. Emmalene was employed and retired from Sears Roebuck after 30 years. She was an avid golfer with an excellent handi-cap. She was a past President of Arroyo Del Oso Women's Golf Association. A member of New Mexico Senior Women's Golf Association, also a member of Sun Country Golf Association. She was also an artist, who enjoyed painting with oils and pastels and was a past member of The New Mexico Art League. She loved to travel, and traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and parts of Africa. She also went to England and Ireland to research her family history. She worked several years documenting her family genealogy. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Charles D'Arcy and Theodore J. Urlton. She is survived by her children, son, Lloyd Charles D'Arcy, Jr. of Garland, TX; daughter, Kathleen Jeanne Orwat and husband Thaddeus, of Albuquerque, NM; son, John James D'Arcy and wife, Judy of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Tiffany M. D'Arcy of Nebraska, Christina G. Cash and husband, Matt of Austin, TX, J. Nickolas D'Arcy and wife, Ericka of Austin, TX, Christopher R. Orwat and wife, Debbie of Arvada, CO; great- grandchildren, C. Jacob Cash, Vincent C. Cash, Gabriella E. Cash, Sabrina A. Cash and Kaylee N. Orwat. She was a very caring and truly good person in this life and will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7500 Paseo del Norte NE. Ennichement will follow services. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be in Emmalene's name to the charity of your choice.
