Emma Rodriguez

Manuelita Emma Gurule Rodriguez, 91, beloved mother, wife, sister and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on November 25, 2015. She entered this world on March 28, 1924 in La Jara, NM, born to Francisco and Eloisa Lovato Gurule. Emma grew up on a farm, where she helped her parents and also helped raise her younger siblings. She enjoyed talking to people and giving to everyone. She dabbled in a bit of everything, from working in a hospital operating room, a clothing store, grocery stores, a lumber yard and also helped her daughter-in-law deliver papers. Her many different jobs kept Emma going and kept her young at heart. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her only son, Edward J. Rodriguez; sister, Nellie Salas; brother, Francis Gurule; grandchildren, Michelle Norris, Sandra Fjelseth and Edward Rodriguez and great-grandchildren Liam M. Norris and Madelyn A. Fjelseth. Emma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward A. Rodriguez; her daughter-in-law, Ann Schultz Rodriguez, and her siblings, Carolina Baca, Sister Rosalie Gurule, Eva Duran, Felix Gurule, Tillie De Herrera, Alberto Gurule, Aduvijan Gurule, Elodia Flores and Siprianita Lovato.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 10:00 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 11:00 a.m. and a Funeral Service at noon - all at FRENCH - Westside. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to any Catholic Church in memory of our beloved Emma.
