Emma Maestas, age 92, passed peacefully on October 23, 2024. She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Dcn. Paul G. Maestas, who preceded her in death on the same date twenty-three years earlier.
Born in her grandmother Luz's home, Emma started from humble beginnings, shaped by the challenges of the Great Depression. Her unwavering commitment to Christian values—Faith, Love, Family, and Service—guided her throughout her life. Emma enjoyed a successful career with Mountain Bell, Western Bank, and ultimately retired from the Social Security Administration. However, her greatest accomplishment was her family, and raising her three children. Her faith-filled marriage of 42 years served as a profound example for her children.
Emma embodied grace, etiquette, and faith in her daily life, making everything seem effortless. Beneath her calm demeanor was dedicated spirit and strong work ethic. Emma was a culinary extraordinaire, always eager to learn, experiment, teach and share a meal with you.
In her later years, she imparted invaluable lessons on the beauty of life, even amidst health challenges. Emma taught us the value of compassion and selflessness, highlighting the importance of putting others' ahead of our own. Her spirit will remain in our hearts and we are honored to carry on her legacy of Faith, Love, Family and Service.
Emma is survived by her three children and their spouses: Paul Simon Maestas, his wife Debbie, Steven Maestas and his wife Debbie and Rebecca Maestas Sanchez, her husband Michael. She cherished her seven wonderful grandchildren: Mateo, Emily and her husband Dillon, Andres, Isaac Sanchez. John-Paul, his wife Caitlyn, Maria Elena Maestas and Addison Emma Maestas
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Emma’s dedicated caregivers, Arminda Perez, Nubia Cornejo, and Fransisca Mata, whose compassion, and commitment to her dignity made her final years safe and comfortable.
