Emma S. Duran

Age 87, of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015. She is survived by her children, Dee Santistevan (Robert), Andy Duran (Billie Jo), Jose L. Duran Jr, Nobella Hall (Terry); sisters-in-law, Cordy Bagwell (Dub), Corrine Mondragon (Chris); Edna Carmichael (Jim), Carol Jones; brothers-in-law, Frank Gusdorf ( Dorothy), and Ted Gusdorf. Emma was a grandmother to Ken Duran (Melissa), Michele Santistevan, Leslie Hall, Lori Johnson (David), Jose Duran III, Jeremy Hall, Lonnie Duran (Kathy), Heather Hall, Todd Duran, and Ryan Duran; great-grandmother to Emily, Ian, Aidan, Autumn, Liam, Andrew, Morgan, Rowen, Ana, Noah, and Jasper. She also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jose L. Duran, Sr.; her siblings, Julian Jones, Charlie Jones, Gene Jones; in-laws; George Sahd, Edward Duran, Luisa Duran, and Naomi Gusdorf. She was one of the founding parishioners of The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Emma spent her career of over 40 years working for the civil service at Kirtland Air Force Base. A Rosary will Tuesday, September 15, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Friends may visit beginning at 5:00 p.m. Mass will be Wednesday, September 16, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE 87112. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. The Duran family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Montebello on Academy for their loving care.
