Our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Emily Chavez, was called to heaven on December 17, 2024. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to her parents Alfredo and Eleanor Trujillo, Emily lived a lifetime of happiness for 85 years.
As Emily began her life as a wife and mother, she married her husband, Johnny who she shared her life with for 50 wonderful years until his death in 2019. Along with her husband, Emily raised their two daughters, Eleanor and Jennie to grow up feeling loved and supported. As a grandmother to Alysha, Emily, Dominic and Justin, she showered them with her loving smiles, kisses and hugs. She recently became a great-grandmother to baby Jonah who she welcomed with open arms. As a mom-in-law and grandma-in-law to Jerry, Jacob, Maria and Kayla, she showered them with her loving smiles, kisses and hugs too. Emily was the twin sister to her brother Joe who she loved so much. She was the big sister to her siblings Carlos, Virgie and Irma who she cared for with all her heart. Our mom, Emily, requested that we give honor to her youngest sister Irma for giving her the gift of life. Irma donated a part of her liver to our mom, Emily. And that our mom was so grateful for being given the opportunity to live 20 more joyous years. Her oldest brother Freddie preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents who she so cherished and respected, Alfredo and Eleanor Trujillo.
Emily was the heart and soul of our family. She was known for the strength and guidance she provided us all. She was the foundation that kept our family strong. The love of our mother, sister and grandmother will remain forever in our hearts.
