Emily Archibeque

Emily Archibeque 86, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her four children, Steve, David, John and wife, Wilene, all of Albuquerque, and MaryAnn Jones and husband, Taihi of TX; eight grandchildren, Crystal, Malerie, Twila, Tre, Tayo, Tajh, Andrew, and Sophia; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who were very respectful and loving to their Aunt Emily. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elias; her sons Richard, James, and Daniel; her sister, Sadie Wilcox; and her mother, Barbarita Salazar.

Emily was a lifelong parishioner of San Ignacio Catholic Church, and she and Elias were united in marriage there on April 23, 1955. For many years she was a Mayordomo at the church, catechism teacher and volunteered to help serve the community through the church. Emily also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for nine years. For many years, she was the church secretary for San Ignacio Catholic Church.

Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 10:00 a.m., at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter St. NE, with Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Friends may call on the family beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will host a reception following the burial at the San Ignacio Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1011 Yale Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Archibeque, John Archibeque, Andrew Ferrell, Vincent Jaramillo, Taihi Jones, Tajh Jones, Tayo Jones, and Trazon Jones.
