Emilio Sanchez, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, was called to his eternal rest on April 8, 2016 at his home in Dana Point, California. He entered this world on September 4, 1931 in Valencia, NM, born to Alfredo and Tercila Sanchez. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Sanchez; children, Alfred Sanchez and wife Sara, Emily Avendano and husband Martin, Margaret Sanchez, step-daughter Kimmie Park and husband David; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Emilio retired at the rank of major after proudly serving his country in the US Air Force and NM Air National Guard for more than 30 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years; Christine Sanchez; his parents Alfredo and Tercila Sanchez; and brothers Herman and Gilbert Sanchez.
Emilio will be remembered for the love and strength he inspired in his family and friends, and will live on in all our memories.
A rosary will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne's Church. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne's with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Sanchez, Jonathan Willoughby, Joseph Montano, and Robert Montano.
