Emil S. Roberts

Emil Roberts, 73, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM and is now in GOD's presence. He was born in Lindsay, CA and grew up in Southern California until he moved to New Mexico in 1974. He worked for KOAT-TV as their Santa Fe Bureau Chief until 1981 when he moved to Albuquerque to anchor their 5pm 1st Edition News. In 1985 Emil worked for Governor Toney Anaya as Director of Communications. At the end of Gov. Anaya's term, Emil moved his family to Las Vegas, NV, to work for IGT where he lived for 17 years until he returned home in 2003. Emil retired in Albuquerque after 22 years with IGT. Emil is survived by his wife, Sherry and their two sons, Aaron and Brian; his daughter, Sherril Hoppe, son, Eric and 6 grandchildren. The most important thing to Emil was his love for Christ and his Family. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 4710 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
