Emerson Grant “E.G.” Snider passed from this life at the age of 95 on July 16, 2021. He was born May 4, 1926 in Clinton, Oklahoma. His family would later move to Buffalo, Missouri where he would graduate from high School. He was drafted into the Navy and served during the final years of World War II. Upon discharge from the Navy, he would marry his high school sweetheart Erda Montgomery and move to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he would raise his family. He went to work at Mead Foods Inc. in 1951 and worked for the company for 33 years before retirement. He and Erda then opened a ceramic shop where they poured, fired, and painted ceramic figures which they sold out of their shop. They taught classes and helped others with their projects. After closing the shop, they traveled the Southwest in a motorhome and wintered in Tucson, AZ. When Erda’s health began to fail they returned to Albuquerque. Emerson was a Christian man who loved the Lord and read his bible daily. He was a member of the Northeast Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his father Homer, his mother Mable, his sister Ruby, his wife Erda, and grandson Errol Snider Jr. He is survived by his children, Errol Snider and wife Michele, Dwane Snider and wife Karen, daughter Rene’ Shaw and husband Dick, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, cousins, and nephews.
A memorial service for Emerson will be held on July 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Northeast Church of Christ, 11000 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122.
