Emalda Josephine "Mel" Castro
July 20, 1943 — December 30, 2015
Emalda (Mel) Josephine Castro, age 72, beloved wife and mother, was called to her eternal resting place on December 30, 2015. She entered this world on July 20, 1943 in Alamosa, CO, born to Candido and Cleotilda Montano. Emalda was preceded in death by both of her parents; two sisters, Ruby and Connie; and her husband, Joseph Castro, Sr. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Jr. and Kenneth; three sisters, Viola, Patricia, and Cyd; two brothers, Gilbert and Sonny; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 2, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations on her behalf to the American Cancer Society.
