Eloy Mascarenas

MASCARENAS, ELOY A.Age 80, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, December 3, 2012. Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ramona; children, John, Leonard and wife, Paula, Phillip and wife, Jacque, Alan and wife, Darcy; siblings, Virginia Thrapp, Sarah Velarde, Tony Mascarenas, Carlos Mascarenas and wife, Molly, Lucy Mascarenas, Robert Mascarenas, and Reina Boffin; grandchildren, Elle, Noah, Michael, Andrea, Joseph, Seth, and Paige. Eloy was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Camilita Mascarenas; and grandmother, Eduvigen Mascarenas. He was a Korean War veteran and then a fire fighter with the Albuquerque Fire Department for 29 years. Eloy was very active in his church, receiving the St. Francis of Assisi Award from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, December 6, 2012, 9:15 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, with the Catholic Daughters reciting. Celebration of the Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m., with Father John Daniel, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Army honors.
