Eloisa Padilla

Eloisa Padilla, 82, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was called to her Eternal resting place on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She entered this world on Tuesday, October 11, 1938 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Alfredo and Aurelia Gutierrez. She is survived by her grandson, Brian Padilla, his wife, Kristin; and two great-grandsons, Cruz and Nyx Padilla. She also leaves behind cherished brothers; sister; nieces; nephews; and close friends.

Eloisa was known for her tireless dedication to the church, family, friends, and neighbors. She was always available to lend a hand and enjoyed gardening a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Eloisa had a gift for blessing others with her thoughtfulness, whether it be a card, pomegranate jelly, or homemade natillas.

The Padilla family would like to extend our gratitude to Retreat Gardens for the sacrifice and loving care they provided to Eloisa during her stay with them. We would also like to say thank you to everyone who visited, reached out to her, talked to her on the phone, or sent cards. They meant the world to her, and also to us. She will be greatly missed, but is home in her final resting place with her husband, Richard Padilla; and son, Ernest Padilla.

A Visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH-University. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. A private burial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
