Elmer Miller King, born July 9, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, died peacefully in his sleep Monday, February 23, 2015, with his beloved wife Jeanne by his side. They were married 62 years. Elmer was a research chemist who developed popular household products such as Cling Free and Soft Scrub. He was also a talented pianist who played with a Cleveland, Ohio dance band for many years and wrote, performed, and recorded his own music. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Emily King, his aunt Dorothy G. King, his brother Don King, and his son Daniel King. He is survived by his wife Jeanne (nAC.e Bartsch); sister Marilyn King; daughter Mary Elizabeth King-Stokes and husband Craig; son Christopher King and wife Mary; daughter Martha Sullivan and husband Gary; daughter-in-law Sylvia King; grandchildren Hilary Stokes, Adam and Julie King, Keith, Kevin and Kyra Sullivan, and Seth McClaine; great-granddaughter Brooke Lyn Stokes-Gialouris; and his family at Sandia Springs. The family will have a celebration of Elmer's life Saturday, February 28, at Sandia Springs Assisted Living, 1000 Riverview Dr., Rio Rancho at 3 pm.
