Ellen May Rechtenbach

Ellen May Rechtenbach, age 88, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away May 30, 2017.

Ellen is remembered mostly for her deep devotion to her family and home. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur William Rechtenbach from Creston, Iowa where they farmed together. Later in life, she worked for the El Paso Public School District for 25 years. Ellen moved to Edgewood, NM after retirement and pursued her love of gardening. Her other interests were watching NASCAR racing, sewing, quilting, embroidery, canning, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her children, Betty Miller, Dori Bartley, Dale Rechtenbach, Carl Rechtenbach, and Dan Rechtenbach; grandchildren, Mark Miller, Judith Miller-Perry, Elisabeth Milam, Samuel Miller, Phillip Miller, Jeffrey Batey, Trisha Compton, Lori Zebley, Steven Rechtenbach; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, John Henry; and sister, Norma Butler; in addition to many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members related by marriage.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Interment will take place on Friday, June 9, 2017, 1:30 p.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas where Ellen will be laid to rest with her husband, Arthur.
