Elizabeth "Liz" Perea

Elizabeth was called to her eternal resting place on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022.

She was born on May 4th, 1936 in Domingo, New Mexico and attended three years of school in Pena Blanca before moving to Albuquerque. She then attended Sacred Heart School as well as St. Mary's Catholic School. Liz is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Benjamin Perea; daughter, Kathleen Allen; and granddaughters, Joyce Weber and Michaela Neil; and adopted son, Rev. Jorge Hernandez OFM. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Jose Chavez and Augustina Armijo Chavez; brothers, Louie Chavez and John Chavez; sister, Mary Chavez; and beloved son, Michael Perea.

Liz was employed by the government for 27 years with Internal Revenue Service as well as Secret Service. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and after retirement, she became very active for many years at Holy Family Catholic Church including coordinating the Elderly Outreach Program and Eucharistic Ministry. Elizabeth will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, youthful grace, faith, strength, and the love she had for her family and friends.

The Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, 9:30 a.m. and Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Drive SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
