Elizabeth "BJ" Jane Ringstead

Elizabeth Jane “BJ” Ringstead, 96, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her home at Brio Assisted Living.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Wayne Ringstead; brothers, Sanford Matthews and John B. May; sons-in-law, Tom Shelden and Jim Ellis. She is survived by her daughters, Sidney Shelden, Carol Ellis, and Joelyn Pafford (Joel); grandchildren, Rob Shelden, Cara Shelden Witkay (Doug), Brea Pafford Holmes (Brian), and Brent Pafford (Amber); great grandchildren, Rachael Witkay, Grace Shelden, Bethany Shelden, and Dax Pafford; nieces, Marian Stevenson, Martha Daudet, Dixie Brenner, and Dee Ann Ringstead. She is also survived by the loving staff and caregivers at Brio Assisted Living.

BJ graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo, CO in 1939 and soon moved to Albuquerque, NM where she met Air Force Warrant Officer Arnold Wayne Ringstead. They were married on July 2, 1943 and began their 30-year military career. As an accomplished seamstress, gourmet cook, consummate entertainer, and gifted dancer, BJ embraced the cultures of the various countries where they were stationed. She continued to hone theses skills until the day she left this earth to dance in the heavens with her beloved Wayne. Friends and family have long enjoyed the fruits of her talents and her loving and generous spirit. She will be deeply missed.
