Elizabeth (Chavela) Wright-Torres, 75, was called to her eternal rest on Monday, August 5, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Torres; parents, Lorenzo and Rose Wright; brothers, Clarence and Steve Wright; and sister, Edwina Wright.
She is survived by her daughter, Erika Torres; grandchildren, Matthew Torres and Jessica Trujillo; one great-grandchild, Tobias Trujillo; brothers, Ervin Wright, Ray Wright and wife, Sharon, and Joseph Wright; sister, Cassandra Charles and husband, Mike; aunt, Virginia and husband, Dewey Buck; and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Most of all she leaves behind her beloved pets, Daisy, Airie, and Stormy.
Liz worked for the City of Albuquerque Traffic Engineering for a number of years before retiring. While working at the City of Albuquerque, she built a home with her beloved husband, Leo. She passed her time by reading books and playing games on her iPad. She loved going to the local casinos and making frequent trips to Las Vegas, California, and Ruidoso. While she loved to press her luck on Keno, she left nothing to chance. Liz pushed her family to be kindhearted and didn't mind helping others when they needed it. She could brighten the world with her infectious smile and approachable attitude to strike a conversation with anyone. Liz will be missed and loved by lots of family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
