Elizabeth (Betty) Kellam, 85, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Betty was born in Great Mills, MD to Agnes and Robert Shepherd.
She is survived by her sons, Norman Kellam and wife, Sue and Douglas Kellam and wife, Heidi; daughter, Nikki Angus and husband, James; grandchildren, Joel, Felecia, Heidi, Sam, Jennifer, Katie, Morgan, Anthony, Lexy, Catrina, and Curtis; sister, Ada Joy; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Kellam; sons, Bill Burch (Rose) and Joseph Burch (Cindy); daughter, Janice Wilson; grandsons, Joseph and Andrew Burch; siblings, Robert Shepherd, Jr., Norris Shepherd, Gene Shepherd, and Louis Shepherd.
Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty spent a majority of her career as the deli manager at Albertsons. She loved hot-air ballooning with Bob. Betty loved doing crafty projects and line dancing. Betty and Bob traveled the country together in an RV which resulted in many adventures and fun filled visits with family members. Betty did not know a stranger and was full of hugs and love. Betty opened her home to those who needed a place to stay, offered meals to the hungry, and donated to those in need. She loved to cook and entertain. While living in her retirement community, she loved to play games and attend Bible studies with her friends. She loved to be with people and have fun. Betty loved her family so much and always made each person feel special. She had a keen ability to remember everyone's birthdays and anniversaries. She would send cards to everyone on their special days. Christmas was always her favorite holiday.
Betty loved to spend time with her St. Chad's church family who welcomed her and Bob with open arms. This community literally became their second family. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the King.
Betty was selfless and resilient. She faced life with a happy attitude even in times of adversity.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Chad's Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122.
