Betty passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023, after breaking her hip just a few weeks prior. Betty was born in Union Township, Ohio. She relocated to Albuquerque with her family in 1943. She attended Albuquerque High School and then had a long career in an administrative support position at Sandia National Labs. She was very active with her garden club Ko Shari and volunteered at Albuquerque Garden Center for many, many years. She had a deep love for plants and to help people with their gardens. Later in life she worked for her niece, Tammy Golding at her property management company keeping up with all of the records. Betty spent a lot of time at her property in Elephant Butte, NM skiing and riding the tube at the lake with the kids.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, M.L. Heisler; one brother, Harold Clark; and her sister, Virginia Golding. She is survived by her two nephews, Rodman Dean Golding and Harold Alan Golding; and her two nieces, Amy Clark and Bethy Kunellis. She was very close to her great-nephews and nieces, Dustin Golding, Lathan Golding, Nikki Golding, and Anna Golding and their children: Graysen Golding, Francisco Vazquez, Guillermo Rason, Beckom Golding, Berkley Golding, Kori Ann Golding, Helena Vazquez, Mayara Vazquez, and Stella Kunellis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
