Elizabeth “Geraldine” Gutierrez went home to be with the lord at the age of 68 on Monday, April 11th, 2022.
Geraldine was married to her beloved husband, Morris Ramon Gutierrez, for 34 years. She was born on February 28th, 1954 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Armenta, her two children and their spouses, Shuri Romero and husband Jonathan Romero, and Roberta Maestas and husband Ric Maestas ~ Grandchildren J. Trevor Romero, Nicolas Romero, Jacob Romero, Caley Romero, Mia Maestas, Emma Maestas, Angelique Maestas, and Ric Jr. Maestas. Brother Steve Armenta. Sisters Cindy Armenta, Irene Armenta, Debbie Armenta and husband Tom Buico. Brother-in-law Norbert Gutierrez. Nieces Carol Armenta, Cassandra Van Diemen and husband, Randy, Aysha Mora and boyfriend Alex, Luciana Mor,. Nephews Jonathan Ortiz and wife Jordan Ortiz, Estephan Armenta and partner Drew Dorian, Martin Gutierrez, Gabriel Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez, and Luis Mora. And mother-in-law Pauline Sisneros. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Armenta and wife Beatrice Armenta, grandparents Margarita Armenta and Jacobo Armenta, Manuelita and Pancrasio Gonzales, father in law Mores Gutierrez, and nephew Isidro Ortiz.
Geraldine worked for Elastimold/Amerace for 30 years in Quality Control where was recognized for many accomplishments including representing the organization on a national level. After retiring from there, she then enjoyed catering for many weddings, graduations, balloon fiestas, art events and anything else where people wanted the best food made on the planet. Geraldine was definitely known for her amazing cooking, which included cake decorating, and she incorporated her artistic talent with the presentation of her dishes. She then moved on to Interior Design, hired by the owner of Stonewood, after he saw her raw talent and artistic eye while she was a customer. Her work was placed in Su Casa magazine and won multiple awards in the Parade of Homes. She had an eye like no other when it came to making a home a home.
Her pride and joy were her grandkids. She adored them like nothing else in the world. She was also so proud of her girls and sons-in-law and all their accomplishments but mostly proud of them being loving, dedicated parents. Geraldine was very much loved and cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, April 14th, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas, with a reception to follow at Rock Canyon ~ 340-364 NM-333, Tijeras, 87059.
We will have a cremation burial of Geraldine at Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
