Elizabeth Ann Cruz

January 4th, 1960—-September 12, 2020



The world sadly lost a pure heart on Saturday, September 12, 2020, when Elizabeth Ann Cruz (Beth), 60 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away. She is survived by her brothers Wayne Cruz and Jim Cruz.



Beth, the youngest of four siblings, was a surprise baby, and Betty her mother was over the moon to have a baby girl after raising three boys. She was the love of the Cruz family. Her three brothers, Sterling, Wayne, and Jim, along with all the cousins, adored her. Beth loved her three brothers and was constantly begging to jump into their games.



Beth was best known for her big smile and contagious, mischievous laugh. She taught others how to laugh heartily and often to the point of tears and snorts. She possessed a clever sense of humor, and brought laughter and snarky, irreverent, funny comments into any situation. Even on the toughest days she found ways to laugh.



From the very beginning, she brought creative energy and magic to everything she touched. She had an insatiable curiosity, with endless interests.



In junior high, she even received a special commendation in art class for “having some pretty weird ideas in ceramics.” Beth had a talent for quickly picking up and mastering just about any craft she set her fingers to. She always had several projects going at once, while constantly scouring for new ideas. You might find her knitting,making jewelry, hand painting some sneakers, or designing a costume. She brought her creative magic to the kitchen as well. She had an ability to look in the pantry and whip up a tasty explosion of flavor with whatever she found.



Beth was always a strong supporter for her friends and family, and inspired others to follow their hearts and dreams. She encouraged others to truly be themselves and “fly their freak flag.” Beth loved her family with all her heart, but by far her greatest joy in her life was her son

Connor, who passed away in October of 2018.



Beth brought magic. Beth IS magic. Now she is flying and laughing through the stars, joining her son Connor, her mom Betty, her dad Ed, and her oldest brother, Sterling. We miss her so much and we will always love her. She was truly a pure heart.
