Elijah Michael Anthony Davidson (Eli), age 19, beloved brother, son and grandson was called to his eternal resting place on Saturday, March 23, 2022. He entered this world on April 23, 2002, in Covington, LA and moved with his family to Rio Rancho, NM in 2007.
Eli was an accomplished student, artist, musician, and a talented basketball player. He was a 2020 graduate of Bosque School where he was a member of the Cantate singing group and the Serenata strings group where he played cello. He led his Bosque basketball team to a 3A state championship in 2020. He was a recipient of several state-wide basketball awards, including District 5-3A Player of the Year, overall 3A Player of the year, All-Metro 1st team, and Albuquerque Journal 3rd team. Because of his outstanding basketball skills, Eli was recruited to and committed to play on the Western Colorado University's Mountaineer basketball team where he contributed for 2 years. Despite his many talents, Eli's true superpower was his warmth, kindness, and the sparkle that radiated from him.
He was the recipient of the Bobcat award given annually to a senior class boy and girl student-athlete who has contributed significantly to the school through leadership, sportsmanship, and athletics. He was also the recipient of the Class of 2005 Enduring Good Award which is given annually to the senior(s) whose conduct has been most beneficial to the class and to the school, not necessarily because of specific acts and achievements, but because of their grace and dignity.
Eli loved working with younger kids and was active in the Horizons program for 4 years, which is a nationally recognized academic enrichment program that addresses the achievement gap and summer learning loss for public school students from low-income families.
He is survived by his parents, Karen, and Clifton Davidson; his cherished sister, Makayla Marie Davidson; and his "mini-me" brother, Peyton Laslie Davidson. Survivors also include his grandparents, Mary Pat and Wayne Laslie of Albuquerque, NM; and grandfather, Henry Peyton of Dallas, TX; uncle, Kenderick Jones and aunt, Laura Jones; uncles, Bernard, Tyrone, Kenneth, and Raymond Davidson; and aunts, Lahana Davidson, and Renata Lane; uncle, Henri Peyton; cousins, Robert, Malcolm, and William Jones. He also leaves behind many other treasured aunts, uncles, and cousins. Touching Eli's life in a truly special way were his close friends, Dante Boeglin, and Quinn Campbell. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Lula Mae Brumfield, Patricia Ann Peters and sister, Saint Anthony Chrzanak.
