Elfego Herrera

Age 73, a resident of Albuquerque, passed on Sunday, June 24, 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Maldonado and husband, Tony; his grandchildren, Gianna and Anthony "TJ"; his sister, Mary Lucero and husband, Harold; his sister, Regina Avila and husband, Mike; his niece, Kimberly Rees and husband, Greg and their daughter, Dylan; and his nephew, Kevin Lucero. John was preceded in death by Jennifer's mother, Viola Napoleone Herrera; and by his parents, Elfego and Aselia Herrera. John was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams on television. He was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Parish. John was known for his immaculate yard maintenance and landscaping. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 10:00 am, with funeral mass following at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Chapel, 5415 Fortuna NW. Viewing will be held 9:30-10:00 am. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Maldonado, Greg Rees, Kimbery Rees, Kevin Lucero, Harold Lucero and Charles Herrera.
