Edward Leffen Pflug A long-time member of the Grove Community, Edward Leffen Pflug, passed away recently in Albuquerque New Mexico on July 14, 2014. He is survived by his sister Marjorie Santori, her husband Paul, brother George Pflug and his wife Nita, his three daughters, Regine Anderson, Martha Ernest and Gale Swearingen and her husband Craig Swearingen, step daughter Susan Walker and her husband Charles, step son, Arthur Babb and his wife Elise. In addition Leffen is survived by his eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Leffen was born on July 18, 1922 in Joplin Missouri to Edward and Mayme Pflug. He married Yvonne "Bonnie" Pflug on December 14, 1974. Leffen was very active in the Joplin community. He was a member of the Kiwanis club, Joplin Jaycees, and Joplin Chamber of Commerce. Leffen was preceded in death by his wife L Yvonne 'Bonnie' Pflug, his parents and brothers Bob, Glen and Joe Harry. After working for over forty years with Empire District Electric Company in Joplin Missouri, Leffen and Bonnie retired to Grand Lake of the Cherokees in Grove Oklahoma. Both Bonnie and Leffen devoted themselves to supporting their community, including becoming founding members of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 555 E Third Street in Grove Oklahoma on August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the St. Andrews Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
