Edward Anthony (Eddie) Junker, 63, of Bernalillo, died suddenly Friday afternoon, July 14, 2017 from a stroke. Eddie was born in Gallup, NM to Edward and Cecilia (Birdshead) Junker, the sixth of eight children. He attended Cathedral Elementary and Gallup High school before exploring the wilds of Brazil during a year abroad. He returned to attend Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. During a brief stint as a dry cleaner in Stilwell, Oklahoma, he met and married Treva O. Kimble and started his family. Relocating to Bernalillo, NM, he and Treva raised five children and were very active in the community. He was a member of the Sandoval County Sheriff's Posse and, as a lifelong Lobo fan, was a strong supporter of the UNM Spirit squad.
In his middle years, Eddie enjoyed several hobbies, such as brewing award winning beer and playing golf. He stopped the beer when he quit drinking and stopped the golf when he could no longer beat his wife fair and square. Always an avid hunter, he took up a keen interest in bird hunting. He had several fine bird dogs, and for a while, too many pigeons. He became a horseman in his fifties in an effort to keep up with (find) his dogs during the hunts and trials, and acquired many hats, saddles, pocket knives, and bolo ties.
As the owner of ACS Lab & Field Testing for over twenty years, Eddie enjoyed the meticulous challenge of the math and science in his analysis of soil and asphalt, but dreaded the laborious tedium of reports and paperwork. He would much rather play with his grandchildren, taunt people with politics on the internet, or go hunting.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Edward, a Bataan Death March survivor; by his mother, Cecilia; by his sister, Geraldine; and by his brothers, Michael and George. He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Treva; by his children, Angela (Connell) Rodden, Roger (Kimberly) Junker, Edward K (Stephanie) Junker, Ashlee (Martin) Dodd, and Jessie (Dustin) Truitt; his brother, Gregg Junker; and sisters, Kristine (Rick) Johnson, Gretchen Junker, and Holly Day; and by his grandchildren, Anthony, Lyndsi, Justin, Chaos, Edward Wilder, Eden, and Scarlett, plus one yet to arrive.
