Ambrocio Chavez

Ambrocio Chavez, 88, passed away on August 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rumaldo, Filimone, Nester, and sister Emma. Ambrocio is survived by his brothers Albert and Filbert, sisters Ninfa, Inez, and Rose, daughter Valerie, son Gerald, and his wife of 61 years, Mary.

Ambrocio was known for his kind heart and great humor. He was a life-long UNM Lobo fan and enjoyed attending basketball games at the Pit. All who knew him felt his kindness, generosity, selflessness and perseverance. He was an incredible father, husband, uncle, and friend and will be missed beyond words.

A Rosary will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on August 29, 2024 at 9:30 am followed by Mass and a reception at Tomasita's Mexican Restaurant. Burial will be on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, time TBD.

Honorary Pallbearers are Alan Sinclair, Ed Tafoya, Jodie Ortiz, Danny Romero, Rudy Chavez, Ben Gonzales and Earnest Gonzales.
