Edith G. Martinez passed away peacefully on July 20, 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 81.
Edith will be missed by all who knew her especially by her friends at her assisted living home. Edith was known for her singing along with the various musical acts that she performed as well as speeding around on her motorized scooter. Edith is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Andrea; two brothers, John Gonzales of Taos, NM and Emil Santistevan of South Gate, CA; her six sisters, Katherine DesGeorges of White Rock, NM, Lorraine Gray of Torrance, CA, Emerald Dolinger of Kansas City, MO, RoseMarie Santistevan and Helen Jaramillo both of South Gate, CA, and Carol Boyer of Tucson, AZ; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Edith is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Herby; brother, Andy; sister, Annabelle; and her parents, Anastacio and Feloniz Santistevan.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday, August 2, 2017, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 3, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will follow the services at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 1:30 p.m.
