Edie Ruby Becker

BECKER - Edie Becker, love of my life, beloved mom, meeem and treasured friend whispered her last "I love you" and slipped quietly away in the arms of her angels January 12, 2010. She waged a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer the same way she faced all of life's challenges, with strength, pride, love and dignity. Born in Belen, New Mexico, she filled her life with the things she loved, lived life to its fullest and taught us do the same. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Carl Becker, daughters Lisa Herndon and husband Tom; Dena Leonard and husband Travis; son, Lou Becker; "adopted" son Michael Roy; grandchildren, Chelsea and Zak Schlegel; Parker and Lexi Herndon; and Connor (Cozmo) and Cali Leonard; and constant companion Lola, her Italian Greyhound. We will take Edie's ashes to her favorite beaches and the family will grieve in private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
